A2X Newsletter | A2X Insider Scoop: Amazon is ending secondary log-ins for accounting pros

One upside of partnering with A2X is early intel from sales channels. When Amazon changes a policy, product, or portal that affects accountants, we get the opportunity to ask questions and get answers at the source.

Here’s the latest change that will hit almost every accounting practice working with Amazon sellers.

What’s happening

  • Amazon is rolling out the Solution Provider Portal (SPP), a verified gateway for third-party accounting practices, agencies, and apps.
  • The familiar secondary-user log-in (how most of us access client accounts today) will be retired for anyone who is not employed by the seller.
  • Amazon wants every partner to migrate before 31 Dec 2025. Miss that date and you could lose access to clients’ Seller Central portals.
  • Staying connected means:
    1. Registering your firm in SPP.
    2. Asking each client to re-authorise you through SPP’s Global User Permissions workflow.

Why Amazon says SPP is better for accounting firms

Security and compliance: Amazon verifies your firm and every staff member. Shared passwords disappear.

Self-service user management: Add or remove staff in one click inside SPP. No more “Hey client, can you create another log-in?” emails.

How to migrate (do it once, repeat)

  1. Register your firm
    • Create or sign in to SPP, then complete the identity and data-access checks.
  2. Re-authorise with each client
    • Seller Central → Settings → User Permissions → Add Authorised Partner. Client sends you the link, you accept, request the roles you need, client approves.
  3. (Optional) Add staff
    • SPP → User Management → Add user, then delegate roles with one click.
  4. Spot-check A2X feeds
    • After each migration, confirm payouts and order data still flow into A2X.

Timing tip: Amazon’s only hard deadlines today are for “high-risk” firms, those with fifteen or more client accounts per staffer. Still, switching during a quiet week now beats scrambling during year-end close.
