A2X Newsletter | Amazon SPP registration for accounting firms
Many of our ecommerce accounting partners have either started or completed their migration to Amazon’s Solution Provider Portal (SPP). As per Amazon, this is going to be a requirement for all third-party service providers (accounting, marketing, etc.) to maintain access to their clients’ Seller Central data.
Have you started the migration yet?
We’ve been hearing from many accounting firms that the process can be challenging, so we recommend getting started sooner rather than later.
As a preferred Amazon partner, we’ve been able to get access to resources for the accounting community to help make the process a little easier.
In this edition of the A2X newsletter, you’ll get:
- A quick recap of what’s changing and why it matters
- Application challenges to be aware of
- Two quick-reference resources you’ll want handy
Questions? Just send me an email ( geoff@a2xaccounting.com) – I read every message and will loop in our Amazon contacts if needed.
Recap
What’s happening:
- Amazon is rolling out the Solution Provider Portal (SPP), a verified gateway for third-party accounting practices, agencies, and other service providers.
- The familiar secondary-user login (how most accounting firms access client accounts today) will be retired for anyone who is not employed by the seller.
- Amazon wants every partner to migrate before 31 Dec 2025. Miss that date and you could lose access to clients’ Seller Central portals.
Staying connected means:
- Registering your firm in SPP.
- Asking each client to re-authorize you through SPP’s Global User Permissions workflow.
Why Amazon says SPP is better for accounting firms:
- Security and compliance – Amazon verifies your firm and every staff member. Shared passwords disappear.
- Self-service user management – Add or remove staff in one click inside SPP. No more “Hey [client name], can you create another login?” emails.

Registration challenges (and how A2X can help)
Many partners report that applications are being rejected or returned with limited permissions, forcing them to reapply or open a support case.
What A2X is doing to help:
- We’re in regular contact with Amazon, relaying real‑world feedback from accounting firms.
- If you hit a snag, reply to this email – we’ll do our best to escalate your case directly.

Resources: Guidelines & List of User Roles
Guidelines → Amazon’s official step‑by‑step registration guide so you know what to expect and what information to gather.
List of user roles → During the application process, registrants must choose from a long list of possible user roles. If you’re unsure which to include, use this quick guide – these are the Seller Central roles we’ve asked Amazon to pre-approve for A2X Partners. Adding them to your application will help avoid delays.
Although the SPP migration is unrelated to A2X, it affects our accounting partners. That’s why we’re doing everything we can, including leveraging our relationship with Amazon, to make this process as smooth as possible, so you can get back to what you do best – supporting ecommerce clients.
